Pacific Gateway 21 Unit Integrated Development

Affordable Housing Community Housing
The project involved the construction of a 21-unit housing complex, consisting of two two-story buildings, a car park, and landscaping.

Kingston Building was shortlisted through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to undertake the design and construction contract as part of the Affordable Living Scheme. The development included 21 units, two of which were adaptable. As part of a mixed-living arrangement, Land and Housing purchased six units, while the client retained the remaining units for rental purposes.

Key Features of the Project

Kingston engaged a team of consultants to refine the detailed design based on Development Application (DA) documents provided during the EOI stage. Once finalised, Kingston secured the Construction Certificate through their appointed BCA certifier before commencing construction.

The development featured two separate two-story buildings with concrete frames and brick exteriors. To expedite construction, lightweight systems were used for the upper floors.

Challenges included constructing the project at a major infrastructure intersection in Glendale, managing an RMS-approved road widening of the main arterial road within the contract timeframe, and adhering to the distinct briefs and specifications of both PLH and LAHC.
