Kingston Building is now partnering with Career Links, a not-for-profit organisation in Newcastle & Lake Macquarie that connects school students with businesses to give them insights into potential work placement in the construction industry.

As part of this initiative, there is an opportunity to give the school teachers (generally Industrial Arts teachers) an opportunity to learn from various construction techniques so that they can impart practical, relevant information to their students.

To make this happen, last week we took 17 teachers through site inspections of three of our major projects around Newcastle in the various phases of construction with the help of Career Links.

We were able to talk through some of the real-life design requirements and the challenges that our team has overcome for the delivery of each project, as well as showcase completed installations.

Thanks to Career Links and our team for helping us to facilitate this initiative, and to the teachers who participated. It was a great opportunity to impart some of our knowledge into the local education and training system and we look forward to partnering with Career Links again in future.
