2026 HIA Australian Housing Awards Nomination – Dora Street SDA
Kingston Building is proud to have represented Newcastle, the Central Coast, and the Hunter Region at the 2026 HIA Australian Housing Awards, following our Dora Street Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Group Home being named the Hunter’s Specialised Housing Project of the Year for 2025.
The Dora Street SDA Group Home is a purpose-built High Physical Support (HPS) accommodation development. The project comprises five self-contained, one-bedroom villas, along with a dedicated carer’s suite, providing long-term, fully accessible housing for people living with significant physical disabilities. Each villa has been designed and constructed to meet the highest NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) standards, ensuring safety, accessibility, and independence for residents.
Team KB have represented the Hunter region at the Housing Industry Association (HIA) National Housing Awards 2026 in the Specialised Housing category. Being named finalists for four consecutive years is a testament to the consistency, dedication, and quality of our team.
While we didn’t take home the win this year, we’re incredibly grateful to be recognised alongside such outstanding projects.
Congratulations to all winners and nominees!
