Kingston Building Celebrates Five Wins At The Master Builders Association Awards

In an exciting triumph for Kingston Building, we are proud to announce our recent success at the Master Builders Association (MBA) Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast Excellence in Building Awards, where we proudly secured five awards. This remarkable achievement not only reflects our commitment to excellence but also celebrates the dedication, expertise, and efforts of our exceptional project teams and personnel.

At Kingston Building, our commitment to our values – People, Planet and Performance – is the cornerstone of every project. This commitment was recognised through the following awards.

SafeWork Excellence in Work Health & Safety – Residential and SafeWork Excellence in Work Health & Safety – Commercial

Safety is at the forefront of our operations. Kingston works extremely hard to develop, implement and continually improve our systems and it is this dedication to continual improvement and the professionalism of its staff to implement these systems. We believe that there is a moral obligation to provide for the well-being of personnel and the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors and all other personnel is paramount.

Restoration of an Historic Build under $1m – Quirindi Public School

The Quirindi Public School restoration project included repairs on the administration building known as Collarene House. The restoration proved to be a labour of love, and to successfully restore the building we accomplished the following:

  • Removing and salvaging the existing Welsh slate from the roof
  • Procuring new Welsh slate and replacing approximately 30% of the roof whilst reinstalling those slate tiles which were salvageable from the removal process
  • Removing the existing roof battens and sarking
  • Replacing the roof battens with new Oregon battens and installing new sarking
  • Removing the bullnose verandah and gutters & downpipes and replacing with new.

Public Buildings under $5m – Kurri Kurri High School

Works at Kurri Kurri High School included the demolition and refurbishment of the existing hall, undercroft amenities and stores area to create a new CAPA Movement Studio, 2 new general learning spaces, as well as a new mezzanine with a 3rd general learning space, music practice rooms and recording studios, and a control booth for audio and lighting for the refurbished stage.

Apartment Development under $10m – Fernleigh Apartments, Belmont

Fernleigh Apartments in Belmont NSW is a for-purpose development, providing opportunities for older and vulnerable members of our community, and at any stage of their housing journey, needing to access safe and secure accommodation. The 13-unit mixed-tenancy complex includes a combination of social, affordable, and market-rate rentals. The development also includes a commercial tenancy on the ground floor that will provide a community contact point for housing provider, Pacific Link Housing and Key 2 Realty, who provide and look after the tenants.
