Expanding Kingston’s regional capabilities was a key focus in tendering and winning the new build of Aldi Tamworth. With site decontamination works being undertaken prior to Kingston’s involvement, there was a significant level of management required to ensure that any contaminated material excavated from site was able to remain on site. By the creation of containment cells and daily management of excavation processes, we were able to manage all site works without the need to remove any contaminated material from site.

The building works involved creating Aldi’s latest version of their store layout, with it being the first of its type to be delivered in NSW. This was an exciting project that we are proud to have delivered for Aldi in regional NSW and adds to Kingston’s extensive portfolio of projects that we have delivered for Aldi across NSW.

The key challenges that were met head on included overcoming the contamination issues, resolving significant high voltage power issues, and undertaking significant road works on one of Tamworth’s main roads for traffic volumes of up to 10,000 cars-a-day.

Kingston’s dedicated and committed project team excelled in the delivery of the store with Aldi staff commenting that it was the best regional store project that they had been involved with.
