Kingston was engaged by ALDI to construct a new retail store in North Rothbury, NSW.

Located in a growing area beside an active retail precinct, the project required careful planning and coordination.

Works included site clearing and bulk earthworks, installation of a 167,000-litre underground OSD tank and stormwater system, 3,600m² of concrete slabs, and a 3,100m² asphalt car park with 106 spaces. The building featured precast panels, a structural steel frame, and a full internal fit-out, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and security systems, along with freezers, fridges, an elevated dock, and a waste compactor.

Delivered within a tight 35-week program, the project required precise sequencing and close coordination with ALDI’s fit-out contractors. As one of the first stores built to ALDI’s latest design standards, it demanded attention to new materials and detailing. The team also managed traffic and pedestrian safety due to the site’s proximity to
existing shops.

Sustainability was a key focus, with a bio-retention stormwater system installed to filter surface water before entering the OSD tank. External works were prioritised early to reduce wet-weather risks. Despite program and site challenges, Kingston delivered the project on time and to a high standard, creating a modern, functional store for the North Rothbury community.
