Kingston Building was awarded the contract to build 2 x two storey residential unit blocks consisting of 6 x 2 bedroom and 2 x 1 bedroom units, including 1 adaptable unit, for affordable general housing purposes.

The works involved the demolition of two existing dwellings and the construction of the new brick two storey buildings.

Features of the project included the use of stackstone cladding, a bio-detention basin, rainwater harvesting, landscaping & kitchens manufactured and installed by Kingston’s joinery shop.  All internal walls were direct stick plasterboard to brickwork.  Bathrooms included rendered and tiled brickwork with services chased.

Due to the site’s topography significant effort and design modifications were required by the site team during construction to adapt the services installations to the existing site conditions with this being achieved in a manner which maintained the overall vision for the project.
