Kingston Building successfully delivered the design and construction of ten affordable housing dwellings for Homes NSW. Constructed as five duplex developments across three Local Government Areas within the Hunter and Central Coast regions, the project delivered a total of 32 bedrooms and forms part of the NSW Government’s commitment to increasing the supply of quality, well-designed social and affordable housing in regional communities.

The developments were delivered across five separate sites, requiring careful coordination of varying planning requirements, approvals processes, and site conditions. Kingston’s design and construct methodology enabled the efficient management of design, approvals, and construction across all locations, ensuring programme certainty, consistent quality, and streamlined project delivery.

Each duplex was designed to provide practical, durable, and comfortable homes suited to a range of household sizes, with a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom dwellings. The designs maximise natural light and ventilation, incorporate efficient internal layouts, and include private outdoor living areas to enhance everyday amenity and strengthen the connection to the surrounding community. Durability and ease of maintenance were key design considerations, with robust materials and detailing selected to maximise long-term performance and minimise ongoing maintenance requirements for Homes NSW.

As part of Kingston Building’s Federal Safety Commissioner accreditation, the Wyong duplex sites were independently audited by the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner. Kingston achieved outstanding audit results, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety leadership, compliance, and best-practice construction standards.

Despite the complexity of delivering multiple projects concurrently across geographically dispersed locations, Kingston maintained consistent quality, safety performance, and construction standards throughout the programme. Leveraging its established regional network of subcontractors and suppliers, the project was delivered efficiently while supporting local industry participation and regional economic growth.

The completed developments provide modern, well-integrated homes within established neighbourhoods, increasing the supply of quality social and affordable housing while demonstrating Kingston Building’s capability to successfully deliver multi-site residential projects through effective planning, collaboration, and consistent project execution.
