Kingston Building was engaged by the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment and upgrade project at San Clemente Catholic College, Mayfield. The project consisted of an upgrade to existing services in Block A to create a new and enthusiastic student breakout space, along with a full upgrade to the Block B Science labs including new disabled accessible workstations.

In addition to the internal works, Kingston installed a new twin booster system fire hydrant to the outdoor common area, to ensure compliance with the project documentation and current standards for new school projects. Further upgrades included the replacement of old workstations, to make way for new and improved ones. Finishes were also upgrade, such as new vinyl floors and walls, decorative pinboard walls, painting, window louvres and blinds, and miscellaneous sanitary fixtures and fitting upgrades. A new fume cupboard was also provided to the science prep room.

A key challenge of the project was completing the works during school hours while ensuring student and staff safety. This was successfully managed through close coordination between Kingston Building and the school principal, allowing for temporary relocation of classes as required. Additional safety measures, including hoarding and barrier mesh, were implemented to maintain a secure and controlled environment throughout the construction period.
