Kingston Building was awarded the contract to develop the design and construct the new Fire Control Centre for the NSW Rural Fire Service at Louth Park, NSW. Works included building a new administration and control centre, a portal framed warehouse for fire truck parking, a helipad, road widening of Mount Vincent Road, and the construction of 6,000m² of internal roads, carparks & concrete pavements which were designed and constructed to suit fully laden fire-fighting trucks.

The project involved the installation of complicated services infrastructure site wide, including telecommunications, underground stormwater reticulation tanks (4×10,000L), 3 x 20,000L stormwater tanks connected to the roof structures to aid in filling fire trucks during emergencies, and a Duraspun Communication Pole to allow co-ordination of fire trucks and ensuring updated information can be received in the event of local bushfires.

Both the Mindaribba and Lower Hunter Wonnarua Aboriginal Land Councils had interest in the site with Mindaribba inspecting and scouring the site during stripping of the top soil in order to identify any indigenous artefacts.

The project was an amalgamation between Port Stephens Council, Maitland Council and the NSW Rural Fire Service.
