Kingston Building was engaged to deliver the refurbishment of the kindergarten block at St John Vianney Public School, transforming the existing facilities into a modern, functional learning environment.

The project involved the demolition of select internal areas to facilitate the creation of a new breakout space and a double classroom, enhancing both flexibility and capacity for early learning. Key accessibility improvements were also delivered, including the construction of new stairs and a fully compliant accessibility ramp, complemented by upgraded internal finishes throughout the refurbished areas.

Comprehensive upgrades to building services formed a critical component of the works, incorporating improvements to electrical systems, including data and communications infrastructure, as well as mechanical and hydraulic services, alongside the installation of a new outdoor wash tub to support practical learning activities. Structural enhancements included the installation of structural steel and the construction of a sandwich panel roof over the ramp accessway, providing both durability and weather protection.

Importantly, all works were successfully delivered within a live school environment, requiring careful staging, site isolation and the implementation of strict safe access management protocols to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors while maintaining ongoing school operations.
